Meet Mrs. Williams
I would like to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me.  This year is my 7th and a 1/2 year as a teacher.  I graduated from The University of West Georgia in the fall of 2005. I began my career in education straight out of college in the middle of the year as a Kindergarten teacher in the county school system. I taught Kindergarten for half of a year and then transferred to Calhoun Primary School where I have been teaching first grade for 7 years. I am an alumna of Calhoun City Schools.  I was born and raised in Calhoun and graduated from Calhoun High School in 2001.

My husband, Brandon, and I live in Calhoun with our little Keylee Noe Williams.  She is 4 years old and the light of our lives. We are thrilled to announce that we will be parents again in March.  We love Calhoun because it has a great family atmosphere and we feel that it is the best community in which to raise our child.  It has a fantastic school system that we will be honored to have our children attend one day.  I love spending time with my family and friends.  I enjoy teaching children, reading, decorating, organizing, artsy projects, sports, and much more.

I look forward to getting to know your child and your family.  We are going to have a WONDERFUL year.  Thank you for sharing your child with me.

Class Introduction
The beginning of a new school year is such an exciting time!  I look forward to working with your child this year.  First grade is such a special year for the children and their parents as well as very challenging and a big transition for the former kindergarten students. In first grade, we teach units based on the Georgia Performance Standards. We teach reading, grammar, writing, and math units and embed social studies and science when possible. Your child will also continue reading flex groups like in kindergarten, so your child may be taught reading by another first grade teacher. These groups are flexible and based on your child’s needs. We will also continue with our intervention time where we will focus on remediation or enrichment of specific skills. I strive to instill a love of learning in my students that will last throughout their life.  If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at the school by calling (706) 629-8323 or drop me a note. Together, we will make this one of your child’s best years in school.
